Rachel’s Story:

“All my life I have worried about my weight. I can’t remember a time I felt satisfied with the way I looked. I began to feel even more uncomfortable after having two kids — I was not making the best food choices or working out regularly. I was constantly trying to find loose fitting shirts and flowy dresses to hide myself and hated how long it would take me to find something to wear.

After I had my second son I decided to do the 12 week post pregnancy online program that Hitch Fit offers. I ended up losing 20lbs and getting down to my pre pregnancy weight. It was a great program but I never pushed myself hard enough in the gym. I maintained my weight around 133lbs for about a year but I was still finding myself covering up and feeling down.

I knew I needed to hire a trainer to push me in ways that I couldn’t do alone and I knew Hitch Fit was the place to go.

In February I started training with Joel three days a week early in the morning. It was never easy getting up, especially when one or both of my kids would wake me up in the middle of the night, but knowing I had to meet Joel kept me accountable. The first couple of weeks were tough. It was hard trying to adjust to a new routine that included working out, and every inch of my body ached! But I began to love that feeling, and I now enjoy working out. It’s an hour of me time!

My plan was to get in as much cardio as I could 6 days a week and sometimes even twice a day. The hard work in the gym paid off, by the end of my 12 weeks I had lost 18lbs and got my body fat down to 15%. I felt great and was seeing muscle definition in places I never had before. It didn’t come without it’s challenges though, Starbucks and the kids’ snack time were a struggle for me. Darn coffee and animal crackers!
I would sneak a few things here and there and then push the reset button to do better the next day. I knew that if I didn’t give into a few of my cravings I would overindulge at a different time. I’m an emotional eater. If I’m mad, sad, stressed, or overly tired I want to eat, but I have learned that I don’t have to run to the comfort foods. I can make better choices and still feel good.

Although I am feeling great, I’m not done refining my fitness routine. My next goal is to do a bikini competition and with an amazing trainer and the tools I’ve been given I know I can do it!

I’m so grateful for the support of my husband through this journey. He helped keep me positive and focused on my goals. I couldn’t have done it without him.”
