Kansas City Weight Loss Gym Success Story
Transformation by Hitch Fit Gym Personal Trainer – TRANSFORMER Alejandra (Alex) Nixon
A note from Alex:
HAYLEE PICKELL is an extraordinary determined hard working young lady that was tired of feeling uncomfortable in her own skin. When I first met Haylee back in June of last year she came to me with an idea in mind of how she wanted to become healthier. One of her first words to me were that she had already lost a big amount of weight before coming in here so she wasn’t sure if I could help her lose more weight. At the same time, she mentioned she traveled a lot for work which could also make a huge impact in regards to this new journey she was embarking on with me.
Well let me tell you guys all of these factors did come in to play but it didn’t stop Haylee from making progress, losing some inches, and gaining a lot more lean mass as well as an amazing confidence and new clothes!! YAY!!! No matter where Haylee had to travel for work she made it a priority to get her meals in and she would even take the time to take pictures of the gym of the hotel were she was staying to make sure I could help her with some workouts that she could do while she was away from home.
Haylee showed a true passion for what she wanted and her perseverance lead her to work hard for a healthier and more fit her which turned out to be a success!
ess as you can see from her final results. It just goes to show you that with true dedication and a goal set in mind you can make things happen. It’s always a matter of how bad do you want to make a difference not only to your body but to your health and how far are you willing to go to make it come true. It shouldn’t matter whether you travel, you work at home, or you go to school because if you really wanted you will make the time to succeed at your goals. And I can honestly say Haylee did this if not more. She has become more than just a client but a true great friend that I know is going to keep on going on this new lifestyle of hers. Never forget how far you have come and how you started. Haylee I am truly beyond words proud of you and how amazing you did!!! Way to go little Rugrat!!! You DID IT!!!!!
In December of 2014, I was the biggest and most out of shape I had ever been in my life. I stepped on the scale and had the huge realization of how out of control I had let my unhealthy habits get. I started to slowly see the weight gain when I started a new job in June of 2012. Traveling is a huge part of my job and I started treating every week like a vacation: eating out, drinking beer every week night, never working out. I was having so much fun meeting new people and traveling the country that I ignored the obvious signs that I was gaining weight. I decided to make a New Year’s resolution (Cliché, I know.) to start off 2015 with my health in the forefront and to start making some serious changes.
From January – June, I worked out with a group of girlfriends and tried to eat better on my own. I had a lot of success and lost nearly 25 pounds by the time I walked into Hitch Fit with a Groupon for a free trial session. I had no idea what I was really getting into, but I signed up to continue with sessions that same night. I started seeing results really quickly and started realizing how important strength training is. I also have become really interested in nutrition over the past year and I have loved learning how different foods affect my body. It is amazing what a few simple changes can do for you.
Now, on to my favorite topic…my trainer! Not only has Alex been a HUGE part of my fitness journey, she has made me realize there is so much more than just my weight on the scale. When I first met Alex, I weighed only 4 more scale pounds than I do right now, but my non-scale victories mean SO much more to me than that. I have grown so much stronger, leaner (lost almost 9% body fat), and have been able to shop for new clothes because NONE of my pants fit anymore (went down 4 pant sizes). Alex is not only a motivating and inspiring trainer, but she genuinely cares about all of her clients and wants to see them succeed. I will definitely miss spending multiple hours a week with her.
I have had a huge support system during the past year, including the support I received from Alex. She worked around my crazy travel schedule for the entire year, which is amazing! She also was always available to answer questions that I had about my nutrition plan white out of town. It has definitely been a slower process for me due to the variables when traveling, but Alex always encouraged me to make the best decisions that I could in that moment and to get right back on track for the weeks that I was in Kansas City. Outside of the support I received from the Hitch Fit trainers, my boyfriend has been such a huge part of my success. I met him when I was at my biggest, in December of 2014. I remember telling him on our second date, right before New Year’s Eve, that I was going to make some huge changes in my life and he has supported me from day one. He quickly adapted his own eating habits to mine and made it really easy for me to stay on track. I am so thankful to have had so many people encouraging me along the way.
I would encourage anyone who is looking to make a lifestyle change to really think about WHY you are wanting to make changes. Once you decide you want to make a change and you are determined to do so, there will no excuse you can make. Traveling used to be an excuse for me of why I needed to eat Chipotle multiple times a week, drink beer every night, or skip the gym, but now I do not let it be an excuse as to why I can’t succeed. If you want something, work for it. It is that simple. I still have a long way to go and I have a lot of goals moving forward, but I am so thankful for this past year, thankful for Alex and thankful for the progress that I have made. My life has completely changed since I walked in the door at Hitch Fit and I am definitely not the same person. I will never go back to the way I was eating/living my life prior to 2015. I am focused on the future and I am never looking back! Thank you, Hitch Fit!
